Real sprite of Hijab in Islam .
============= The word Purda has come from Zoroastrian religion. Purda was in practice before the advent of Prophet Muhammad (pubh), In the holy Quran two words are used indicating maintenance of women’s modesty. One is “Alhijab” and another one is “Jilbab”. Now we can see how the word “Hijab” is used in the holy Quran.
Which ll be helpful to understand the meaning of Hijab what Quran wanted to mean.
“----If you have to ask his wives for something, ask them from behind a barrier (HIJAB)”---(Al-Ahzab:53).
In discussing about the gap between Paradise and Hell the word Hijab is also used. Between them is a veil(HIJAB).
"And on the Heights are men who know them all by their marks. And they call unto the dwellers of the Garden: Peace be unto you! They enter it not although they hope (to enter).( Sura araf.046)."
In another place the gap between Allah and man is described as:
“And it was not (vouchsafed) to any mortal that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by revelation or from behind a veil(HIJAB)” (As Shura:51).
Here Allah is not shy and wearing Hijab or any cloth but the word Hijab has repeatedly been used to mark an obstruction.
It is not necessary that the obstruction should be made wearing some cloths rather it is to be observed. Men and Women cannot get mingled in any way physically, mentally or emotionally.
Another sprit of modesty is revealed in the Sura Nur verse 30 and 31. Where it is clearly stated what is to be done both man and woman.
