His nationalistic zeal (craziness) was aware of every tactic for unification of Germany and many there were followers of Christianity. Political unison of German race was his motive. But analysis of his decisions give us an impression that he wanted to replace Christianity with his defined version of another set of belief, i.e. scientism.
