“ The lightning almost snatches away their sight, whenever it flashes for them, they walk therein, and when darkness covers them, they stand still. And if Allah willed, He could have taken away their hearing and their sight. Certainly, Allah has power over all things.” (2:20). Al Quran. ===========================

Actually Quran is not a book of science and our faith on Quran is not based on science . Maurice Bucaille said tat it is stupidity to testify Quran by science cuz science can change but Quran is the ultimate. Still being a Student of science sometimes I try to elaborate some recent findings of science . But I again must say it is an act of unIslamic attempt to verify Quran by Human inventions.

Now lets see what modern science are saying regarding human vision and what Quran told us about the blessing of Allah in human vision.

…………………..

Human vision is sensitive to light commonly known as the visible spectrum is the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that is visible to the human eye. Electromagnetic radiation in this range of wavelengths is called visible light or simply light. A typical human eye will respond to wavelengths from about 390 to 700 nm. The response of the eye to light is determined by pigments in two cells of the retina called rhodopsin (rod) and idopsin (cone). Rods and cones are light reception cells.

Light falling on these produces impulse due to photochemical reaction. Rods are adapted to night vision and operate at dim light. Cones function in bright light and are responsible for colour perception.

There are animals having only day-time or only night-time visions. Man is fortunate in having both day-time and night-time vision by the activities of cones and rods. Several cells in the retina code a transmit the signal produced by the rods and cones to the brain when visual image is produced. In front of the crystalline lens of the eye is the iris at the centre of wt;- there is a circular opening called pupil.

The function of the iris is to regulate automatically the opening in the pupil, like diaphragm in the camera according to the intensity of light. The diameter of the pupil is dilated; low intensity and contracted at moderate intensity. The study of visual sensitivity with intensity of light shows that cones and rods bacon insensitive at very intense light. Lightning produces a very intense light on a sudden and human vision is temporarily blurred owing to non-response from rods and cones.
