পৃথিবী গোলাকার।

خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ‌ۖ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيۡلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّہَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ < ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيۡلِ‌ۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ‌ۖ ڪُلٌّ۬ يَجۡرِى لِأَجَلٍ۬ مُّسَمًّى‌ۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفَّـٰرُ “He hath created the heavens and the earth with truth. He rolleth the night around the day, and rolleth the day around the night, and He hath subjected the sun and the moon: each running on for a term appointed! Lo! He is the Mighty, the Forgiver.” Eng Abdul Dariyabadi. (39:5)

“He created the heavens and the earth for just purpose. He wraps the night over the day and He wraps the day over the night, and He has put the sun and the moon under His command, each one of them moving for an appointed term. Remember, He is the Mighty, the Most-Forgiving. “ (39:5) Mufti Taqi Usmani. Rolleth or wraps is to move across the ground or another surface by turning over and over. ……

“তিনি আসমান ও যমীন সৃষ্টি করেছেন যথাযথভাবে। তিনি রাত্রিকে দিবস দ্বারা আচ্ছাদিত করেন এবং দিবসকে রাত্রি দ্বারা আচ্ছাদিত করেন এবং তিনি সুর্য ও চন্দ্রকে কাজে নিযুক্ত করেছেন প্রত্যেকেই বিচরণ করে নির্দিষ্ট সময়কাল পর্যন্ত। জেনে রাখুন, তিনি পরাক্রমশালী, ক্ষমাশীল।”( ৩৯:৫)। (আচ্ছাদিত = Wrap, cover, আবরণ, আবৃত করা।)

Rolleth অথবা wrap বা আচ্ছাদিত করা বা আবৃত করা বা মুড়িয়া দেওয়া শব্দটি আয়াতটির, “ وَيُكَوِّرُ “ (কেওরা) শব্দের অর্থ। এই কেওরা এসেছে কুরা শব্দ হতে যার প্রকৃত অর্থ কোন কিছু গোলাকার করা। প্রমান হিসাবে আমরা দেখি আরবীতে ফুটবল কে বলে, “কুরাত আলকাদাম” https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/كرة Noun كُرَة • ‎(kura) f ‎(plural كُرَات ‎(kurāt) or كَرِيّ ‎(kariyy) or كُرًى ‎(kuran)) 1. ball 2. sphere, globe https://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/كرة http://www.almaany.com/…/ar…/%D9%88%D9%8A%D9%83%D9%88%D8%B1/।

এই আয়াত টি থেকেই বোঝা যায় আল্লাহ তায়ালা, “ তিনি রাত্রিকে দিবস দ্বারা (গোলাকার ভাবে) আচ্ছাদিত করেন এবং দিবসকে রাত্রি দ্বারা ( গোলাকার ভাবে) আচ্ছাদিত করেন। পৃথিবী যে গোলাকার এই আয়তা দ্বারাই বোঝা যায়।
